About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Planning and Productivity. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the improvement of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to improve productivity and financial performance within the Trust.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Planning function, including the development of processes, education programs, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, directors, and clinicians across the organization to achieve key objectives.
  • Contribute to the Annual Operating Plan, including assessment of external requirements and coordination between Trust functions.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in management roles, including recent experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Advanced leadership qualities and experience leading teams.
  • Broad knowledge of the NHS, including performance management regimes, NHS financial framework, and NHS operating plan.
  • Clear understanding of budgeting, investment, and savings approaches in an NHS context.
  • Experience of leading change through empowering people and holding them to account.
