Position Overview

As a Cost Estimator Specialist at Zia People Solutions, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Upholding exemplary safety and environmental practices in line with company standards.
  • Facilitating effective dialogue with project leaders, contract managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting team dynamics and addressing personnel matters as needed.
  • Overseeing, guiding, and nurturing your team members within the commercial framework.
  • Creating developmental opportunities for junior commercial personnel through structured training initiatives.
  • Engaging with client representatives to ensure clear communication and understanding.
  • Establishing commercial relationships with supply chain partners through pre-contract discussions and contract evaluations.
  • Managing the financial aspects of subcontractors, including payment processing, final account management, and involvement in conflict resolution.
  • Monitoring and analyzing site resource expenditures.
  • Generating monthly financial and value assessments, along with quarterly reports, and presenting findings to upper management.
  • Participating in discussions regarding project outcomes and contributing commercial insights to strategic planning.
  • Promoting adherence to company protocols and recommending enhancements to senior leadership.
  • Ensuring the timely submission of payment applications in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Providing commercial guidance to site teams and management on contractual matters.
  • Attending and contributing to all site financial meetings.
  • Assisting in the preparation of insurance claims.
  • Effectively managing your time and the workload of the commercial team in an organized manner.
  • Contributing to the risk management processes of projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in Rail projects.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts is advantageous.
  • Possession of PTS certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficient in IT applications.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
