Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Shift Relief Operator to join our team at our Arbroath plant. As a Shift Relief Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of hygiene throughout the plant, operating barley drying equipment during harvest periods, and providing shift relief as required during holidays and illness.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the plant and grounds
- Monitor rundown screens to tractor trailer at Howard tank
- Prepare and fill export containers
- Clean jumbo bins and silos in preparation for fumigation and/or refilling
- Clear all rubbish to designated skips and recover as much usable product as possible
- Assist Plant engineering department as and when required
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with the Plant work instructions
- Ensure site compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and associated external and internal standards for food safety and product quality
- Operate barley dryer during harvest (12-hour shifts, including night shifts)
- Remove culm from Buhler kiln or clean floor
- Holiday/Sickness cover for Malt Technicians
- Production of malt or barley drying, as per instructions from the maltings management
- Transfer barley from barley bins into production as required
- Transfer kilned malt to malt storage bins as required
- Complete all necessary records in accordance with the company quality standards
- Assist Malt Technicians to dress malt and barley
- Operate the Manitou/Drive company vehicle as necessary
Requirements

- Working Knowledge: Product/EH&S awareness, Forklift operation, Vaccinations: Polio and Tetanus vaccinations and up to date boosters
- Malting qualification desirable
