Job Summary:
A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Alexander Associates. As a key member of our commercial management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial management of projects, reporting to the Commercial Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
- Collaborate with design, construction, and supply chain teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and deliver commercial solutions that meet their needs.
- Manage and monitor subcontractors' performance, ensuring they meet the required standards.
- Prepare and issue subcontract documentation, including contracts, invoices, and payment schedules.
- Assist in the development and management of junior commercial staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as quantity surveying, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognized institution, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
- Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors, with a strong understanding of NEC3 contracts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
