Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging with HMRC regarding clearance applications and inquiries.
- Preparing detailed reports and advisory letters on various tax matters.
- Calculating figures to substantiate advisory services.
- Interacting with clients and participating in collaborative meetings.
- Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior staff members.
- Assisting Directors and Partners within the Tax Advisory Group.
Examples of Projects:
- Providing guidance on corporate restructuring, investor reliefs such as EIS/SEIS, and employee incentive programs.
- Consulting with owner-managed businesses on remuneration and succession strategies.
- Preparing claims for research and development, VAT, and SDLT.
- Advising individuals on inheritance tax planning and capital gains tax mitigation.
- Reviewing corporate tax computations and submissions.
Candidate Requirements:If you are not CTA qualified, you should hold AAT or ACA/ACCA qualifications and be motivated to pursue CTA certification. Experience in corporate taxation is essential, and familiarity with other tax areas is advantageous. Candidates may currently be in an accounts/audit role with a strong interest in tax advisory or may already be part of a dedicated tax team.

Compensation and Benefits:Salary range: £40,000 - £55,000 based on experience, with a competitive benefits package.

Essential Skills:As a vital member of the team, strong personal tax technical knowledge is required, along with excellent communication and management skills. This role involves client interaction and supporting junior team members, as well as assisting in client advisory alongside financial planners. The position encompasses both compliance, where you will manage your own client portfolio, and advisory work. As a Senior Consultant, you will be expected to contribute to the growth and vision of the tax team.
- CTA, ACA, or ACCA qualified.
- Diverse experience in income and capital taxes, as well as personal and corporate tax planning within small to medium-sized firms.
- Ability to engage with high-net-worth individuals and owner-managed businesses.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and video conferencing.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Excellent analytical and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
Desirable Experience:
- 7 years of experience in a tax-related role.
- 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Knowledge of non-UK domiciled taxation matters.
