We are seeking a qualified SEMH tutor to support children and young people on a 1:1 basis outside of mainstream schools.

This role will be ideal for a qualified teacher, teaching assistant, or SEN 1:1 who is looking for flexible work.

The SEMH tutor will work with children to provide face-to-face support at their homes or a local area, such as a library.

The tutor will plan resources around the child\u2019s needs, which may include developing their knowledge in Maths and English or educational learning through play.

The tutor will also be responsible for managing and implementing a range of behaviour strategies to keep the child engaged and ensure they can access the learning.

The location for this role will vary depending on the need of the pupil, but will be pre-agreed prior to commencement of the tuition.

All pupils for this role will be based in the Swadlincote and general Chesterfield area, which has extensive transport links.

We are looking for a SEMH tutor who can:

  • Plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular sessions.
  • Apply skills to get pupils\u2019 education back up to speed.
  • Check that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and provide feedback.
  • Have experience working with children with challenging behaviour.
  • Have SEN experience in SEMH.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 approximately.
