Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism? Do you want to gain practical experience in a high-energy educational environment? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced staff to support children aged 3-11 with Autism. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Supporting classroom activities and interventions based on evidence-based practices.
  • Establishing supportive relationships with children, serving as a role model.
  • Adapting learning resources and strategies to ensure access to the full curriculum.
  • Motivating and challenging pupils, promoting self-esteem.
  • Attending to personal, social, health, and hygiene needs of pupils.
  • Collaborating with parents and teachers to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Recording and monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback.
About the Training

You will receive comprehensive training to support children with Autism, including:

  • Training Provider: LET ME PLAY LIMITED
  • Course: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard (Equivalent to A Level)
  • Mode: Online/Remote learning combined with full-time work at the school.
  • Duration: 16 months

At least 20% of your working hours will be spent on training or studying.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above)

You will also need to possess excellent communication, attention to detail, and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
