Senior Radiographer Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Angiography Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiography Specialist to join our dynamic team in Paediatric Cardiac Angiography and Interventional Radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Radiography Specialist, you will play a key role in providing specialist radiography skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Superintendent Radiographer in the day-to-day running of the Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Angiography department
• Maintain a high standard of patient care and ensure compliance with WHO surgical checklist
• Be accountable for own professional standards and maintain a high standard of imaging and patient care at all times
• Carry out all radiographic examinations as per departmental protocol set out within the Ionisation Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations 2017 guidelines and Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017
• Communicate effectively with rotational radiographic staff and ensure they are updated on changes made to imaging protocols
• Promote good working relationships with clinical teams and ward staff to ensure patients are appropriately prepared and seen on time
• Train and supervise radiographers in line with the training program, ensuring competency goals are met
• Undertake imaging research and other research projects as directed by the Consultants and superintendent Radiographer
Requirements
• DCR/BSc in Radiography
• HPC Registration
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
• Significant post-qualification experience
• Experience in Cardiac Angiography or Interventional Radiology
• Experience working with Siemens Artis and/or Toshiba Infinix x-ray systems
• Knowledge and awareness of:
+ Quality assurance
+ Data Protection Act
+ IRMER 17 IRR 17
+ Clinical Governance
• Working knowledge of PACS and RIS Systems
Desirable Criteria
• Specialist knowledge and experience of Paediatric Imaging
• Experience in Cardiac Rotational Angiography
Skills and Abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Understanding of the needs of the child
• Ability to empathise with the children and their parents
• High level of organisation, self-motivation, drive for performance and improvement, and flexibility in approach and attitude
• Ability to give effective feedback to other Radiographic Staff
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexible outlook of the working day
