Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Outpatient Reception team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of excellent patient experience and contributing to the trust's elective recovery plan.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide an efficient and effective outpatient reception and appointments service, adhering to Trust protocols and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Deal with all aspects of the outpatient appointment function on the Trust's computerised patient record system (QCPR), actively participating in virtual receptionist processes and updating patient demographics.
  • Support the ongoing Outpatient Digitisation process and maintain a high standard of patient care.
  • Rotate within the Outpatient reception teams to ensure a multi-skilled workforce and provide flexible cover for colleagues as required.
  • Actively participate in Team Meetings and audits, ensuring any changes to patient demographic details are updated immediately on QCPR.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Previous receptionist experience and computer literacy, with experience in data entry and use of email.
  • Understanding of Information Governance, Data Quality, Patient Confidentiality, and its requirements.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous NHS/Public sector experience, including direct customer care.
  • Previous experience of working within a busy outpatient appointments environment.
