Role

The University of York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Curriculum Area Leader for History. As a key member of our Education Department, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programme.

Responsibilities

As Subject Area Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the History programme, including programme design, execution, and delivery. You will work closely with the Director and partnership schools to ensure the success of the programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and supervision of students
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Recruitment and selection of students
  • Collaboration with partnership schools and mentors
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A first degree and relevant teaching qualification
  • Substantial knowledge of current issues in ITE and mentoring
  • Experience of teaching and learning in a HE context
