Role Overview:

The Candidate Assessment Specialist is a pivotal role within the Experience and Assessments Hub. This position is essential for upholding the high standards of the Early Talent assessment process for graduate, intern, and apprenticeship candidates. As an Interviewing Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Specialist will conduct numerous interviews, ensuring quality, consistency, and fairness in alignment with the Early Talent Assessment model, while delivering an exceptional candidate experience. A comprehensive understanding of recruitment processes and the Early Talent landscape in the UK is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting a high volume of in-person final interviews during peak recruitment periods.
  • Providing support and guidance to interviewing managers.
  • Welcoming candidates and assisting the Interview Coordinator as necessary.
  • Facilitating candidate preparation through Q&A sessions and various communication channels.
  • Executing second-stage virtual interviews, scoring candidates, and providing feedback.
  • Communicating interview outcomes and offering verbal feedback upon request.
  • Managing a busy candidate inbox, addressing queries, and ensuring interview adjustments are implemented.
  • Overseeing the Applicant Tracking System to ensure timely candidate progression through the recruitment pipeline.
  • Orchestrating the candidate assessment journey, ensuring a positive experience from application to offer stage.
  • Maintaining fairness and consistency for all candidates while being mindful of diversity targets.
  • Staying informed on business updates and external factors affecting recruitment.
  • Managing digital communication platforms to enhance candidate experience.
  • Supporting candidate calls as needed.
  • Continuously improving candidate communication strategies.
  • Utilizing data from the ATS and digital platforms to generate insightful reports for decision-making.
  • Assisting team members with ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Identifying and escalating issues to leads or other teams when necessary.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in high-volume interviewing; background in Occupational Psychology is advantageous.
  • Experience in training interviewers is essential.
  • Familiarity with professional services environments and the graduate recruitment market is crucial.
  • Understanding of ethical interview practices and the Equality Act.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday preferred).
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse audience.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new information and technologies.
  • Capability to manage changing demands effectively.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
