About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Data team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of the team, you will support data requirements for our Clients & Markets function, taking ownership of business opportunity data from our construction and business activities across various data capture methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and document business systems, processes, and data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Manipulate data from internal and external sources to develop use cases that meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure necessary data is tracked internally.
  • Analyze datasets using a combination of tools, including SQL, PowerBI, and PowerApps.
  • Produce and communicate insights relating to business performance.
  • Agree on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for measuring performance and establish reporting at a corporate and project level.
  • Participate in strategic discussions and make recommendations based on insights uncovered.
  • Work closely with Clients & Markets stakeholders to analyze and present data that drives business decisions.
  • Adhere to and contribute to standards and best practices with the central data & analytics team.
  • Maintain and develop Power BI dashboards measuring business KPIs.
Requirements
  • Strong data visualization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills.
  • Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics degree with a Master's preferred or equivalent experience/Finance or Accounting.
