Position Overview

As a key member of our technical team, you will report directly to the EC&I Engineer. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with maintenance activities while assisting in the calibration and testing programs for our electrical and instrumentation systems. This role is primarily based on weekdays, with some flexibility required for occasional weekend shifts to support operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all necessary maintenance routines and inspections to adhere to applicable regulations and site maintenance schedules.
  • Create and implement risk assessments and method statements for tasks undertaken.
  • Identify and resolve issues in low voltage electrical systems as needed, supporting the EC&I Engineer in the maintenance and testing of site electrical systems.
  • Deliver expert support in troubleshooting, calibration, and testing of process plant instrumentation.
  • Assist the EC&I Engineer and planner in all aspects of work control and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and actively participate in their implementation.
  • Provide commissioning assistance to project engineers for new installations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Completion of a trade apprenticeship, complemented by an HNC in electrical or EC&I or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a process plant environment, preferably on a COMAH site.
  • Familiarity with engineering protocols and standards.
  • Understanding of high and low voltage systems and distributed control systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety regulations, including ATEX and PUWER. COMPEX certification is preferred.
  • Trained in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP S4/Hana for asset management is advantageous.
