Academic Tutor Job Description

LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Tutor to support students in a Secondary School in Breaston. The successful candidate will work on a 1:1 basis with students in KS3 and KS4, delivering Entry Level English & Maths and other subjects as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver 1:1 tuition to students in KS3 and KS4, focusing on academic progression and attainment.
  • Work with students who do not attend mainstream lessons due to anxiety or mental health issues, providing tailored support and guidance.
  • Liaise with subject teachers to devise effective improvement strategies and monitor student progress.
  • Deliver content on a 1:1 basis with students outside of the classroom setting, using the school's resources and facilities.
  • Support students in KS4 with Entry Level English & Maths, and work with KS3 non-attending students to deliver a range of subjects.
Requirements:
  • At least one year's experience as a tutor or educator.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships quickly.
  • Capable of leading small group interventions and facilitating progress effectively.
  • Dedicated to working with students to raise attainment and support academic progress.
