Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our team at KNAPP. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of dealing with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations within a warehouse environment.

As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining site MHE to a high standard, managing time via CMMS to achieve over 90% utilisation, and continuously improving all aspects of new and old equipment. You will also be accountable for responding to emergency situations and interacting with on-site management to keep them informed of repair and maintenance progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration, and system testing.
  • Day-to-day maintenance of site MHE to a high standard.
  • Manage time via CMMS to achieve over 90% utilisation.
  • Continuously improve all aspects of new and old equipment.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Interact with on-site management to keep them informed of repair and maintenance progression.
  • Service and repair current installed products.
  • Interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls.
  • Carry out risk assessments and appreciate Health & Safety considerations.
  • Operate hand tools and assemble parts onto equipment.
  • Follow set-up instructions, assembly drawings, and checklists.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Appreciate control systems and be willing to learn and adapt to changing role requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels both internally and within the customer organisation.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of Non-Destructive Technologies and Testing.
  • Understanding of PLC's and their function.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge beneficial.
  • Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Use of CMMS system and engineering stores.
  • HNC/HND equivalent is desirable.
