Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Product Development Manager to join our senior management team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enabling our business to achieve its projected targets, vision, and business plan through the strategic leadership and management of our product development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project development and first production of new products to meet client briefs and project plans.
- Support the business and projects through the expertise of the Product Development team.
- Develop and present innovative product and packaging concepts to clients.
- Lead the transition of new products from concept to full production.
- Plan and manage factory trials at manufacturers.
- Work with manufacturers to establish relevant controls for new production processes and products.
- Input to the supplier approval process and manage the introduction of new manufacturers.
Requirements
- Strong manufacturing background in the food manufacturing sector.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, systems, and standards.
- Robust understanding of product development and industry standards.
- Good understanding of the development cycle and the stage-gate process.
- Probably a food science degree with significant experience in a food environment.
- Ability to build and develop strong relationships with external partners.
