Solar Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Engineer to join our team at A&D Recruitment. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for delivering commercial solar PV installations across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a robust hand-over from sales/design, with a strong focus on technical accuracy.
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Oversee health, safety, and environmental aspects, with a strong understanding of NEBOSH/SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS Card requirements.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, including RA and Permit to Work training.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external processes, legislation, regulation, and the law.
  • Lead project execution, utilizing Prince2 and APNP methodologies.

Personal Attributes/Professional Experience:

  • Proven experience in electrical and solar PV installation on large domestic or commercial projects, surveying, and project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC and voltage drops, with a good grasp of technical documentation.
  • Ability to take a project from design stage to delivery and hand-over, with a strong understanding of working within processes.
  • Technical expertise in solar photovoltaics, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Remuneration:

  • Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE.
  • Home-based with site visits required.
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
  • Company Pension Scheme.
  • Mileage allowance for site visits (own vehicle required), 2-3 days per week (max).
