We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Hernshead Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of design and development projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the design and development of multiple components on a motorcycle, collaborating with specialists and chief engineers as needed to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to ensure current and future deliverables meet project promises.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to maximize team working and effectiveness, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Deliver projects to key performance indicators (KPIs) driven by cost, time, quality, and specification targets.
  • Follow established processes and procedures to minimize risk to projects and products, while challenging these to maximize effectiveness.
  • Escalate concerns, risks, and issues up through the reporting chain.
  • Undertake and assist with projects as required by your manager.


Requirements:


  • MEng or BEng in an engineering-related subject.
  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above.
  • Highly technical approach with emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate on technical judgment and work independently as experience increases.
  • Ability to demonstrate urgency and willingness to deliver to promise.
  • Understanding of the need to think ahead regarding risk and mitigations for designs, with a focus on robust and proven solutions.
