Information Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Specialist to join our team in Manchester. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in protecting our technical estate from emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct security penetration testing and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor external information sources to stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assess and coordinate patch management activities for internal systems and hardware.
- Recommend server hardening activities to ensure the security of our infrastructure.
- Support the administration of email and web gateways.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Strong understanding of Information Security risk management tools and techniques.
- Experience working with Information Security solutions, such as email/web gateways, SIEM, and Endpoint protection.
- Knowledge of recognized Information Security frameworks and best practices, including ISO27001 and NIST.
- Ability to challenge approach, strategy, and implementation to ensure Information Security is consistently considered and improved.
- Structured, self-starting, flexible, and enjoy working in fast-paced environments.
