About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Commercial team in Byfleet, working on projects in our South East region.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the entire financial cycle of two to three contracts, from preparing anticipated build costs to procuring, paying, and evaluating subcontractors. You will also be responsible for monthly cost forecasting and reporting, as well as assisting in the preparation of construction budgets for approximately three developments concurrently.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders from Construction and Procurement, as well as external contractors and consultants, to agree trading terms and negotiate contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial cycle of two to three contracts
  • Prepare anticipated build costs and assist in the preparation of construction budgets
  • Procure, pay, and evaluate subcontractors
  • Perform monthly cost forecasting and reporting
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to agree trading terms and negotiate contracts

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in Construction. You will hold a HNC or HND or similar qualification and be a member of a professional body, such as RICS or CIOB. You will be comfortable understanding architect drawings, specification documents, and relevant terminology.

You will be a commercially astute negotiator with experience in measuring drawings, tender analysis, and other standard surveying techniques. You will be able to work independently and collaboratively with a wide range of responsibilities, prioritizing tasks and managing your time effectively.
