Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial management of our organization. This includes providing financial advice, analysis, and direction to our senior leadership team and board.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the finance committee, including attending meetings and preparing/distributing papers.
- Collaborate with our CEO and senior leadership team to develop the financial strategy.
- Lead the preparation of statutory year-end accounts in line with SORP requirements and implement auditors' recommendations.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflow positions in consultation with our CEO.
- Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts with plain English commentary for non-finance audiences.
- Oversee the coordination of incoming donations and payments.
- Prepare annual donor statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT returns and advise on registration issues.
- Ensure compliance, payroll, and pension returns, as well as Gift Aid claims, are accurate and submitted on time.
- Authorize bank payments using online banking/BACS.
Requirements
- Experience in financial management and reporting.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders, including development and fundraising personnel, and presenting at committee and board levels.
- Self-sufficiency and confidence in decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
