Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and driven Principal Flood Risk Modeller to enhance our Flooding and Water Management Team.

Flexible Work Arrangement: This position offers flexibility, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, with options for adjusted start and finish times.

Role Responsibilities: As a key member of the Water Environment Department, you will advocate for the sustainable management of water resources. Your efforts will contribute to safeguarding the water environment and enhancing community resilience against flood risks and climate change.

You will engage in various flood risk assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and flood risk management projects across the UK, addressing both public and private sector needs.

Technical Leadership: In your role as a Principal Flood Risk Modeller, you will provide expert guidance to the modelling team, ensuring the highest quality of flood risk modelling outputs. Your extensive experience in flood risk assessment and management will be instrumental in shaping modelling approaches and decision-making related to flood risk mitigation strategies.

Project Management: Depending on your level of project management expertise, you may lead projects or collaborate closely with project managers to coordinate resources, oversee contracts, manage client relationships, and monitor quality, timelines, and budgets.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess significant experience in hydraulic modelling applicable to diverse projects. Proven leadership and project management skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of Flood Risk Assessment, Natural Flood Management, and Sustainable Drainage techniques.

A relevant advanced degree (MSc/MEng and/or PhD) in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, water resources, or a related environmental science discipline is required.
