Senior Hardware Electronics Engineer

Our client, a leading company in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Hardware Electronics Engineer to join their team. This permanent role offers the chance to work within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, medical, automotive, and aerospace.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the Hardware Electronics team for projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  2. Act as an independent reviewer of electronic designs and supporting lifecycle documentation, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
  3. Capture, develop, and validate hardware requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  4. Design, analyze, implement, and verify electronic circuits according to defined specifications, considering factors such as safety, reliability, and performance.
  5. Document design activities, ensuring traceability and adherence to project, company, and regulatory standards.
  6. Generate, perform, and validate hardware verification plans and procedures, ensuring thorough testing and validation.
  7. Collaborate with Systems, Software, and Mechanical disciplines to meet hardware requirements, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  8. Contribute to the development of system architectures, considering alternative concepts and trade studies, to ensure optimal solutions.
  9. Support system qualification and hardware/software integration activities, ensuring seamless integration and testing.
  10. Assist in production NPI activities and resolve component obsolescence issues, ensuring continuity and minimizing disruptions.
  11. Assist Project Managers with plans, estimates, task lists, and risk management plans, providing expert guidance and support.
  12. Follow robust configuration control, review, and change management processes, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, with a strong foundation in electronics and circuit design.
  2. Experience in hardware electronic engineering, with a focus on high-integrity and safety-critical circuitry.
  3. Proficiency in design tools and software, including microcontroller-based circuitry, digital interface circuitry, and analogue signal measurement/conditioning circuitry.
  4. Experience in leading teams of electronic engineers, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  5. Experience in de-rating, reliability prediction analysis, and FMEA, with a strong understanding of configuration control and change management.
  6. Excellent communication skills and ability to compile reports to make data-driven decisions, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
