Apprentice Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Fabric Engineer to join our team at The Oval Partnership.
About the RoleAs a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be responsible for providing safe and reliable equipment to our manufacturing colleagues. Your primary accountability will be to execute hands-on planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Execute hands-on maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working practices.
- Ensure assets are ready to produce products of excellent quality, dispatched on time in full to the satisfaction of our customers.
- Coach, train, and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance.
- Act with integrity at all times to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focused continuous improvement skills.
- Technical Hands-On Engineering Experience, preferably through a recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing.
- Strong experience in ensuring safe working and safe systems of work are utilised and followed.
- Experience and knowledge of Lean and Asset Care Excellence techniques – particularly root cause.
- Specific experience of Total Productive Maintenance or 'Operator-Led' Asset Care.
- Knowledge of Statutory Compliance obligations – particularly high-risk utilities topics.
- Enhancing and sustaining high asset performance, enabling reliable delivery of manufacturing plans.
- Ensuring that a daily engineering activity plan is delivered on time in full and DRM is supported.
- Ensuring full compliance with all operational standards/specifications/policy and procedures.
- Overseeing and monitoring the performance of external contractors who work on the site.
