Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Brook Street. As a key member of our Facilities team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical maintenance, issue resolution, and investments across our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of electrical maintenance, issue resolution, and investments across our facilities and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly.
  • Uphold and contribute to our excellent health and safety standards, regulations, and records.
  • Action a range of building management and requirements, including small building works, minor repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Manage all audit, reporting, and compliance requirements associated with your role.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure their requirements are captured and managed in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage contractor or 3rd party supplier relationships associated with your role, ensuring contract delivery, policy, and procedure adherence, and value for money.
  • Proactively communicate with colleagues and 3rd parties to deliver the highest level of service delivery.
  • Establish and enforce construction, manufacturing, and installation standards.
  • Ensure adherence to building, fire, health, and safety regulations, adhering to policies and procedures, and industry best practices.
  • System maintenance, inspections, and upgrades, in addition to managing any associated contractors or 3rd parties as required.
  • Manage associated budgets, SLAs, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with your role.
Requirements:
  • A qualified 17th edition, ideally 18th edition certificate, or qualified apprentice-trained electrician.
  • Comfortable working across two sites and being included in an on-call rota, which results in enhanced compensation to your salary.
  • A full clean driving license, which would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional electrical fault-finding and resolution experience.
  • Experience of electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a print environment, specifically Möllers or print press, which would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team, making timely decisions, and making your schedule(s) to ensure timely issue resolution and action.
  • A team player, comfortable taking on tasks within your skillset or quickly learning new skills to deliver tasks outside your electrical expertise.
  • A natural people person, comfortable dealing with technical experts and non-experts, to proactively manage expectations and keep actions/projects on track.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, tenacious, and resilient problem solver.
  • An understanding of how your work impacts others and high levels of commitment to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Qualifications, and/or experience with building, plumbing, and other maintenance trades, which would be a significant advantage.
  • Health & safety training, awareness (IOSH/NEBOSH), and operational understanding, including risk assessments.
  • Authorised persons training on areas such as water treatment, working practices, etc., which would be a significant advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles and/or Construction Design Management (CDM), which would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience of leading a team, directly or indirectly, which would be a significant advantage.
