Paediatric Physiotherapy Lead

The Paediatric Physiotherapy Service is seeking an experienced operational and professional manager to share the lead for this highly motivated team within Child Health, NHS Grampian.

The physiotherapy team comprises 17.55 wte staff based in the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital and in different locations within Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

The physiotherapy lead provides professional support to the physiotherapist based in the Neonatal Unit.

The post holder will work alongside the experienced part-time physiotherapy lead as a job share.

They will work closely with other Allied Health Professional (AHP) disciplines, including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and dietetics, to provide a cohesive and coordinated children's therapy service.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with a wide range of other professionals from health and other agencies.

There is excellent team working with other physiotherapy services across NHS Grampian.

The children's service provides input for children from birth to school leaving age, with a diverse range of conditions.

The team assesses and treats children within the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, acute services, in and outpatients – from most specialty areas and in the neonatal unit – as well as in community settings, such as clinics, educational, and home settings across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

At times, outreach support is provided for areas out with Grampian.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must be a qualified, HCPC registered physiotherapist, with significant relevant professional experience, as well as having a management qualification and/or equivalent people management experience.

They should be able to demonstrate effective leadership, such as of teams and projects, have experience of service development and improvement, as well as effective communication skills.

An awareness of policy and practice issues relevant to the children's agenda and to paediatric physiotherapy is essential.
