Role Overview: The Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of components and subassemblies sourced from our global supply chain. This position involves close collaboration with team members to enhance supplier quality and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential quality assurance support for new product introductions within the supply chain, monitoring and reporting on suppliers' Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) programs.
  • Create and maintain inspection plans for incoming components, reviewing and approving suppliers' Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Part Submission Warrant (PSW) submissions, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
  • Assess the capabilities of new and existing component vendors to ensure they can deliver defect-free components at anticipated production volumes.
  • Collaborate with under-performing suppliers to implement improvement initiatives, minimizing the risk of production shortages and disruptions.
  • Organize internal and external measurements and data analyses to validate PPAPs.
  • Lead root cause analysis for suppliers as necessary, acting as a Supplier Development Engineer in collaboration with the Client Systems Team and selected suppliers to achieve the desired quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree and/or recognized Quality Management certification.
  • Previous experience in Supplier Quality Assurance within automotive manufacturing or a related field.
  • Proficient in New Product Introduction (NPI) and managing suppliers to meet quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies, including Global 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, 5-Why analysis, and Pareto analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in metrology, inspection techniques, and equipment, with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Able to interpret 3D CAD and 2D drawings accurately.
  • Strong data presentation skills and the ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice as required.
  • Possession of a full clean driving license.
