Role Overview: In this position, you will gain hands-on experience in the preparation and cooking of a variety of fresh ingredients. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Working with meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and desserts.
  • Acquiring fundamental kitchen techniques.
  • Understanding food safety, hygiene practices, and proper storage methods.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Team Environment: This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated kitchen team consisting of 15 culinary professionals, supporting daily and event catering for a vibrant school community.

Training and Development: The work schedule consists of 5 days per week, including 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day. As an apprentice, you will receive practical training 4 days a week, complemented by 1 day of formal education at a recognized hospitality training institution. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will earn a Level 2 qualification in Commis Chef.

Qualifications: To be eligible for this role, candidates should have achieved GCSE English and Maths grades AD/39 (or equivalent). A GCSE in Cookery or Food Technology is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation: The annual salary for this position is up to £20,085.
