Job Description

We are seeking a talented VAT Specialist to join our VAT team in London, responsible for providing VAT advisory services to clients in various industry sectors.

As a VAT Specialist, you will manage your own portfolio of VAT clients, working with Partners/Directors on complex consultancy and advisory projects, as well as reviewing and managing VAT compliance work.

You will provide VAT advisory services to clients, developing your VAT technical skills and relationship-building skills, managing your own client portfolio, and furthering your career within the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and maintaining key client relationships by delivering excellent client service;
  • Input into the successful delivery of VAT projects, ensuring technical excellence and a commercial approach;
  • Manage and work on a portfolio of complex VAT advisory cases;
  • Be technically strong on VAT matters;
  • Identify opportunities on client portfolio;
  • Support on VAT due diligence, including reviewing businesses for existing and potential tax issues;
  • Liaison with Senior Managers to Partner grades;
  • Counsel and develop associate-level staff through delegation and on-the-job training;
  • Work collaboratively with peers in the Business Tax team and across the firm to ensure a joined-up approach.
Requirements
  • Proficient in UK VAT law, gained within the profession and/or industry;
  • Client-driven and commercially minded;
  • Ability to deliver consistently excellent client service;
  • Motivated team player with a flexible attitude;
  • Excellent communicator (both written and oral);
  • Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally;
  • Qualified (or exam qualified) Accountant (ACA, ACCA) and/or CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA, law qualification).
