Key Responsibilities- Assess and prioritize the needs of critically ill patients and their families, providing client-centered care that focuses on promoting health and well-being.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, developing and maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Assess educational and informational needs of patients and families, providing up-to-date information to enable them to participate in care planning.
- Enhance care within the clinical area by utilizing relevant research outcomes to inform nursing practice.
- Evaluate nursing care, communicating with medical staff regarding patients' changing healthcare needs.
- Model competent skills, demonstrating a deep understanding of the special needs of cancer patients and their families.
- Maintain safe practice, adhering to hospital policies and standards.
- Ensure all prescribed medications and treatments are administered in accordance with hospital policy.
- Participate in internal rotation to night duty, supporting other clinical areas within the Trust as needed.
- Prepare patients for safe transfer to other specialist critical care areas, liaising with relevant nursing, medical, and paramedical personnel and relatives.

Person Specification- Essential qualifications: RGN Level 1 or 2, Degree, Diploma, or equivalent in nursing studies, Post-Registration certificate in critical care, Mentorship course.
- Desirable qualifications: Management course, Post-Registration certificate or course in Cancer care.
- Essential experience: Extensive experience in relevant specialty, Leadership experience.
- Desirable experience: Managerial experience.
- Essential skills: Excellent communication skills, Ability to work as part of and lead a team, Highly motivated and enthusiastic, Ability to deliver high-quality care.
- Desirable skills: Computer Literacy.
