About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our team at Barclays. As a key member of our Financial Intelligence team, you will play a critical role in investigating and reporting suspicious activity to the National Crime Agency (NCA) when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day Transaction Monitoring initiatives, including reviewing, investigating, and reporting suspicious activity through AML expertise.
  • Execute monitoring checks on customers, transactions, and other activities to identify potential risks and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage issues and alerts arising from transaction monitoring tests, including the investigation and resolution of each incident.
  • Develop and implement Transaction Monitoring procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives to improve Transaction Monitoring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and escalate breaches of policies and procedures appropriately.
  • Take ownership for embedding new policies and procedures adopted due to risk mitigation.
  • Make informed decisions based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
  • Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, building a network of contacts within and outside the organization.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Financial Services, Data Analytics, and recognizing patterns in numerical data.
  • High degree of computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
