About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at IAG Loyalty. As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data models to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling: Lead the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support our team's objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work with analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather data requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data flow diagrams and data dictionaries, ensuring models are well-understood and accessible.
  • Scalability and Performance: Develop efficient, scalable models that meet business needs, and ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
  • Best Practices: Monitor usage costs, promote best practices, and establish SQL coding standards, leading code reviews to maintain high-quality output.
Requirements
  • SQL Proficiency: Exhibit excellent SQL skills, critical for efficient data manipulation and querying.
  • Data Modelling Techniques: Possess strong knowledge and experience in applying various data modelling techniques to create robust and scalable data structures.
  • Source Control and Code Reviews: Experienced in working with source control systems and leading code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
  • SQL-Based Transformation Tools: Skilled in using SQL-based transformation tools like DBT, SQLMesh, or similar, to streamline and optimise data workflows.
  • Data Warehousing Solutions: Familiar with major data warehousing platforms such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and Snowflake, understanding how to leverage these technologies effectively.
  • Data Governance and Quality: Have a strong appreciation for data governance and data quality principles, ensuring that all data assets are accurate, consistent, and compliant with organisational standards.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate exceptional analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, essential for diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
