Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled C&I Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a C&I Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems and instrumentation for Wastewater Treatment Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop control systems and instrumentation for Wastewater Treatment Systems, working closely with the engineering team to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant systems.
  • Instrument Loop Diagrams and Electrical Schematics: Read, design, and draft instrument loop diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Cable Sizing and Schedules: Understand, calculate, and check cable sizes and cable schedules.
  • Purchase Specifications: Create purchase specifications for instruments and electrical components.
  • Field Support: Provide field support for pilot trials, installations, commissioning, or any other field works.
  • HAZOP and SIL Studies: Participate in HAZOP / SIL / Operability Studies at UK/Overseas Sites.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities.
  • CAD Drawings: Use CAD for electrical, instrumentation, and P&ID drawings.

Requirements:

  • CAD Proficiency: Experience in using CAD for Electrical, Instrument, and Piping drawings, including P&IDs, Equipment Layout, Wiring Diagrams, Panel Layouts, Panel Schematics, Skid Layouts, Electrical Single Line and Block Cabling Diagrams, Electrical Connection Diagrams.
  • Engineering Software: Proficiency in developing process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and control strategies using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, P&ID software).
  • Health and Safety: Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Familiarity with Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) and other risk assessment techniques.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical & Instrumentation, or related field).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Water/Wastewater Treatment Systems in Industrial sectors, including Municipal, O&G, biogas, etc.
  • Instrumentation and Process Engineering: Experience in instrumentation and process engineering, preferably in water and wastewater treatment or similar industries.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management software tools.
