Position Overview
We are currently looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow infrastructure professionals to deliver comprehensive support across various levels to our end-users, ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems. This position may require travel between different sites.
As an IT Support Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. You will assist in optimizing and upgrading essential components, including servers, storage solutions, and backup systems across our network.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regular updates on the status of infrastructure enhancement projects.
- Assist in strategizing infrastructure upgrades while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Install and configure new IT hardware and mobile devices in both Microsoft and Apple environments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Respond to service desk inquiries through various communication channels, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs, including Mathematics and English.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in advanced infrastructure or support roles.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, O365, and standard IT applications.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and switching.
- Familiarity with Active Directory management and backup/restore processes, as well as disaster recovery best practices.
- Experience with Wi-Fi technology, such as HP Aruba.
