Cranleigh Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join its team in Cambridge. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in leading continuous improvement projects across the site, developing new specifications, and ensuring projects meet time, cost, and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise to the project engineering team.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects across the site, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing changes.
  • Develop concepts into detailed specifications for manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and performance optimization.
  • Create and maintain mechanical specifications, drawings, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct tender analysis and validation, ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure safe site operation, including risk assessment and safe system of work permits.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Project engineering experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
  • Project management experience within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • AUTOCAD or Inventor CAD experience required.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and control capital projects.
  • ATEX & commissioning experience advantageous.
  • Experience of industry standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA.
