Senior Financial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Recruit4Talent. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the finance team, ensuring all financial deliverables are achieved within stipulated timelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Management: Manage and co-ordinate the activities of the finance team, ensuring all financial deliverables are achieved within stipulated timelines. Develop, support and motivate the team to work in a cohesive environment.
- Financial Reporting: Responsible for the production and presentation of Month End Reporting packs for multiple business units. Reporting of all key financial data to Plant Management, Business Unit Management and Operations groups.
- Cost Management: Weekly engagement with Operational teams to support CCM (Continual Cost Management), ensuring production updates are monitored and suitable mitigation actions are taken for significant changes.
- Annual Planning: Prepare and load financial information for Annual Planning cycle. Liaison and support for Budget holders in the planning process to encourage accountability and promote responsibility.
- Financial Analysis: Preparation and submission of monthly outlook updates for Central FP&A team. Attend weekly cost management and monthly management KPI meetings. Presenting the financial results to the rest of the management team, addressing any operational impacts to plant profitability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all legal regulations in Accounting and Finance are adhered to, including Sarbanes Oxley legislation. Audit of other internal departments in relation to SOX requirements.
- Process Improvement: Continually develop best practice in the finance team to eliminate non-value-add activities.
- Qualifications: Fully CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified – minimum of 6 years.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience of managing a small financial team at a senior level is essential. Experience in a senior accounting role within a manufacturing, Food, FMCG, or similar fast-paced environment is essential.
- Skills: Managing company accounts more than £70M turnover is preferred. Knowledge and experience of SAP & Hyperion (HFM / XL load & retrieve) is essential. Understanding of or knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) is preferred. IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft packages and systems and processes associated with this role.
- Personal Qualities: Self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Conscientious, methodical and able to work under own initiative. Task orientated with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Salary: Senior basic salary (will declare salary directly with candidates who apply on request).
- Car Allowance: Company car or car allowance to the value of £450 per month.
- Bonus: Annual bonus max 5% based on personal and business performance.
- Hybrid Working: Available after an initial 6-month probationary period – Max of 2 days at home (must be flexible depending on the needs of the business e.g. month-end).
- Holidays: 34 days holiday including bank holidays.
