The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Backend Software Engineer to join our team in London. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex software systems using Java 8+, SpringBoot, Gradle, and Maven.
  • Lead the development of microservices architecture and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Ensure high-quality code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration with Git, Jenkins, and Nexus.
  • Participate in Agile methodologies and contribute to the development of our engineering practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and contribute to the growth and development of our team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and contribute to the development of our technical strategy.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Java 8+, SpringBoot, Gradle, Maven, Mockito, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and familiarity with functional programming languages.
  • Experience with restful APIs, databases (relational and NoSQL), and continuous integration.
  • Expert knowledge in unit testing, static code analysis, and BDD/TDD.
  • Experience with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
