Our client, a growing entity in the manufacturing sector, is looking for a Technical Estimation Specialist to become part of a dedicated team.
The ideal candidate will possess drafting expertise and preferably have a background in manufacturing engineering estimation. Experience in the metalworking industry will be considered a significant advantage.
Individuals with familiarity in welding, laser cutting, fabrication, punching, press braking, and CNC machining who are eager to transition into an estimating/design office-based engineering role will find this position particularly suitable.
Technical Estimation Specialist – The Rewards

Technical Estimation Specialist – Requirements
• Proficiency in interpreting and translating technical drawings is essential
• An engineering apprenticeship, formal qualification, or relevant industry experience is preferred
• Computer literacy is crucial, with experience in Amada software being advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality in work and company performance
• A drive to improve business performance
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Resilience in meeting fixed deadlines
Technical Estimation Specialist – Responsibilities
• Collaborating within a team of three estimators, including on-site sales and engineering support
• Developing quotations and estimating costs by analyzing each component from CAD or engineering drawings
• Identifying the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes through internal capabilities and subcontracting
• Progressing towards programming for nesting and punching machinery
• Reviewing RFQs and engineering drawings received from the customer RFQ team
• Engaging with suppliers to negotiate subcontract costs
• Preparing detailed cost sheets for individual components and assemblies within set deadlines
• Assisting in the preparation of production components and materials, collaborating with various internal teams and utilizing the ERP system
• Working effectively with other members of the estimating department and the broader business to deliver competitive solutions
• Supporting business and costing inquiries on the ERP system by reviewing process routes and BOMs
