About the Role

The Resource Geology Coordinator is a critical position within ArcelorMittal, responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the development and implementation of best geology and resource practices across all mining operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Encourage and foster a culture of safety as the top priority, leading by example and promoting a high-performance culture.
  • Resource Management: Contribute to the development and deployment of exploration and resource definition standards, ensuring effective resource generation and management.
  • Technical Assurance: Undertake compliance and technical assurance reviews, ensuring that gap analysis and maturity assessments are conducted, and action plans are developed and implemented.
  • Geological Support: Assist and guide business units in mine geology procedures, exploration practice, geological mapping, and the interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
  • Strategy Development: Support the development of effective strategies to achieve growth in value of mining assets, providing guidance to exploration and mine geology teams.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that mineral rights information is managed effectively, and GIS databases are established and maintained at each site and at a group level.
  • Technical Expertise: Manage, interpret, and review 3D geological and resource models, providing guidance on the implementation of geo-metallurgical models.
  • Collaboration: Support geoscientists across the mining business, providing training and mentoring, and promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Geoscience, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Mining and operational geology, resource evaluation, and geological mapping experience, with technical involvement in resource modelling estimation and reporting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with a commitment to safety, governance, and implementing standards. Proficient use of mining and geology specialized computerized solutions and IT innovations.
