We are seeking an experienced Treasury & VAT Accountant to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial management and control across all areas of Treasury and VAT functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective financial controls and processes.
  • Pulling the VAT return together, analysing and interrogating this as appropriate.
  • Preparing accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Analysing financial data, identifying trends and variances, and providing insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Completing daily payments to the bank.
  • Working closely with financial advisors.

Required skills and experience include:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification or part qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE.
  • Extensive knowledge around treasury activating and placing funds.
  • Money market knowledge.
  • Previous public sector experience.
  • Experience of applying technical accounting knowledge as part of financial management practices.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
