Treasury & VAT Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Treasury & VAT Accountant to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial management and control across all areas of Treasury and VAT functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective financial controls and processes.
- Pulling the VAT return together, analysing and interrogating this as appropriate.
- Preparing accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Analysing financial data, identifying trends and variances, and providing insights to support decision-making processes.
- Completing daily payments to the bank.
- Working closely with financial advisors.
Required skills and experience include:
- A recognised accountancy qualification or part qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE.
- Extensive knowledge around treasury activating and placing funds.
- Money market knowledge.
- Previous public sector experience.
- Experience of applying technical accounting knowledge as part of financial management practices.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
