Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Manager to lead our Family Residential Centre as the Team Manager, on a full-time permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of residential workers and coordinating staffing rotas, working together with the Local Authority to ensure effective placement of families, and creating a culture and ethos where the complex needs of the individual parents and children and the group are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality assure transition/care plans and ensure that these are aspirational in terms of supporting individuals and families.
  • Ensure that the physical environment of the centre remains at a high standard at all times.
  • Hold team meetings to share information, practice developments and share any arising issues with the Management Team for resolution.
  • Attend a variety of formal meetings to represent the Service and/or on behalf of the Children's Services Manager.
  • This role includes an expectation of on-call, rota cover and out-of-hours working.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid UK driver's license.
  • Must hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
  • Must hold OR be willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's services.
  • At least 3 years' experience working with children (within the last 5 years) and at least 1 year at Senior level supervision or management experience working with children/young people and their families in a residential setting.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children's homes with the ability to support the service to achieve a rating of outstanding.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children & young people.
