Job Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to provide exceptional support in the maintenance and repair of electrical and welding machinery. This role involves both in-house and on-site responsibilities, ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and meets quality standards.

Work Schedule: Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.

Compensation: A monthly car allowance of £450 is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the Company's Safety, Health, and Environment Policy at all times.
  • Conduct servicing and repairs on plant machinery and related products, both in-house and at client locations.
  • Complete all repairs and documentation in line with the Company's Codes of Practice and its BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by promptly responding to service calls and executing high-quality repairs.
  • Perform routine electrical inspections on calibration equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of parts in the workshop to facilitate efficient repair processes.
  • Participate in training sessions to remain informed about new technologies and industry practices.
  • Document daily activities and submit reports to the Branch Manager.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workshop and company vehicle, reporting any damages to the line manager.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in numeracy and literacy.
  • Good physical health and fitness, with a focus on visual acuity.
  • Relevant experience or knowledge in the field is essential.
  • Familiarity with machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of electronic components, including circuit boards, processors, and computer hardware/software.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and equipment design.
  • Strong customer service abilities, including needs assessment and quality standards evaluation.
  • Logical reasoning skills to assess strengths and weaknesses of various solutions.
  • Problem-solving capabilities to address complex issues and explore viable solutions.
  • Ability to comprehend work-related documents and communicate effectively.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to assess quality and performance.
  • Capacity to maintain focus on tasks over extended periods.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the operational needs of the organization.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, notifying the Branch Manager of necessary repairs.
  • Effective communication, listening, and time management skills.
