About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Ferncliffe House in Halifax. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of the people we support, helping them to gain more independence in their daily lives.

As a Support Worker with Voyage Care, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides person-centered care and support to individuals with autism and learning disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with personal care, cooking, and cleaning when required, as well as encouraging individuals to access their local communities, socialize, and engage in activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Prepare and cook meals, as well as assist with cleaning and household tasks
  • Encourage individuals to participate in activities, such as hobbies, sports, and social events
  • Support individuals to access their local communities, including shopping and leisure activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other professionals

  • Enhanced evening and weekend pay at an additional 50p per hour

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep shifts
  • Resilience, flexibility, and composure in your approach
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice
