About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer to join our team at Harrington Starr on a contract basis. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications using Python.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software applications using Python, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to ensure that software applications meet business requirements and user needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including code comments, API documentation, and technical guides.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure that code quality meets company standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve software applications and processes.
Requirements
  • Strong background in Python development, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with cloud development, including AWS and Azure.
  • Excellent understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and development methodologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Business acumen, with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the financial services industry, particularly in commodities trading.
  • Knowledge of.Net core and ability to work with multiple programming languages.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
