We are currently seeking a Despatch Team Leader to join our team at our Bradford Bakery. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Front Line Managers with managing, developing and leading the team to effectively deliver an operationally excellent Despatch in line with Hovis supply chain business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of shift-based operatives on shift, providing clear direction, motivation, and communication.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop an efficient operation in line with the site plan and key business performance indicators.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company and legal standards, including safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and develop continuous improvement activity in the team's delivery of quality, value, safety, hygiene, environment, and customer service.
  • Standard Procedures: Ensure total compliance to all standard procedures and systems.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate visible leadership for the team and ability to cover for the Despatch Front Line Manager in their absence.
  • Site Plans: Contribute to the development and implementation of site plans.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Business Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of business systems, including SAP, PTL, and T&T.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships: Ability to create strong and effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Industry Experience: Relevant industry experience.
  • Health and Safety: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and commitment to H&S.
  • Leadership and People Management: Excellent leadership and people management and coaching skills.
  • IT Literacy: IT literate.
  • Numeracy and Literacy: Good numeracy and literacy.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Initiative: Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable, flexible, and demonstrate a willingness to accept changes in operational requirements at short notice.
  • MHE/FLT Training: MHE/FLT Trained.
