An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Versatile Maintenance Technician to become part of our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Engineering Team Leader, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the upkeep of site machinery, equipment, and systems, enabling the organization to function effectively while adhering to Food Safety and Health & Safety standards.
You will collaborate closely with production, operations, and quality departments, providing precise updates and information to guarantee the seamless operation and delivery of engineering services that meet the business's requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Maintain machinery and equipment to the highest standards, working efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure the factory operates smoothly.
· Provide immediate support for equipment failures to reduce lost time, accurately documenting downtime and root causes for further investigation.
· Demonstrate the ability to trace faults (root cause analysis) and resolve issues effectively on the first attempt, seeking assistance when necessary.
· Execute planned maintenance tasks in accordance with the onsite PPM system, including thorough visual inspections of critical machinery components to identify wear or damage.
· Conduct precise PPM checks and document any required corrective actions.
· Be thoroughly trained in the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines, lubrication needs, and critical points on the equipment as outlined in the machinery manuals.
· Apply sound engineering practices to mitigate the risk of product contamination.
· Assist in supervising onsite contractors, addressing or escalating any identified deficiencies.
· Understand the principles of metal detection and possess comprehensive knowledge of the equipment and testing procedures.
· Prioritize incoming tasks and manage your time effectively.
· Communicate and collaborate with all levels of management across various functions regarding engineering activities and their completion.
· Ensure compliance with all health and safety and food hygiene protocols at all times, fostering a culture of safe working and helping to implement safe practices.
· Optimize the use of spare parts, consumables, and equipment, minimizing waste wherever possible. Log used spare parts and flag them for reordering.
· Perform any administrative tasks necessary for fulfilling the engineering plan or personal responsibilities.
· Successfully complete the engineering maintenance plan, covering designated areas and equipment.
· Support the training and development of apprentices.
· Assist with site projects and installations as needed, demonstrating flexibility during busy periods.
· Ensure adherence to Company Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Standards and Procedures, promoting safe working practices through training and development within the team.
· Maintain excellent housekeeping standards with a clean-as-you-go approach, helping to keep the Engineering areas organized and tidy.
· Monitor plant performance, ensuring thorough checks are conducted, defects identified, and corrective actions taken before they affect site performance.
· Contribute to efforts aimed at reducing energy consumption and waste, generating ideas to enhance the company's sustainability.
· Exhibit flexibility in your approach and be willing to cover for colleagues during absences when required by the business.
· Be open to undertaking training courses to enhance your skills or meet legislative or mandatory training requirements.
· Ensure the completion of any administrative tasks or duties necessary for fulfilling the engineering plan or reporting requirements for departmental KPIs.
Working Hours:
Shift- Panama Days 6.30am-6.30pm/2on-2off, 3on-2off, 2on-3off.
