Job Title: Senior Hygiene Manager – Food Manufacturing

Location: Midlands

Salary: Up to £75K + benefits

Job Overview:

This is a key role within the management team of a leading Food Manufacturing business, driving growth and excellence in hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Hygiene Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest food safety criteria are met across multiple factories, leading a team of hygiene staff to drive continual improvements.

Your Key Tasks:

  • Plan and coordinate the work of the on-site hygiene staff to achieve exceptional hygiene standards.
  • Develop and audit hygiene schedules and work instructions to ensure all inspections and certification audits are passed.
  • Manage budgets and report on key performance indicators.
  • Oversee waste segregation and recycling services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a large team of supervisors, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the safety of self and staff, ensuring all health and safety policies are implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure all team members are suitably trained, understand their objectives, and are motivated to perform their duties reliably and punctually.
  • Drive cost savings in hygiene and waste overheads, embedding safety measures across all hygiene and waste handling activities.
  • Hold daily briefing sessions with your team to advise them of daily targets, previous day's results, and any future news.
  • Ensure up-to-date chemical handling training is provided and completed for all relevant staff.
  • Ensure all team members at all levels understand their part in achieving departmental operational objectives.
  • Ensure all staff are trained on new equipment or cleaning materials/chemicals.
  • Assess risk within the department and ensure all relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work are carried out, compiled, and kept up to date.
  • Promote a culture of Quality and Food Safety, demonstrating commitment to the highest standards at all times.

This is a critical role for the business, requiring a robust Hygiene Manager who can drive the team forward and contribute to the continued growth of the company.
