We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities and Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Magna International. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to plant operations and the Injection Moulding Area, ensuring the smooth running of our facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management
- Validate contractor-proposed technical solutions to ensure they meet our standards and requirements.
- Manage all contractor activities, including buy-offs and off-site work.
- Improve facilities and equipment to optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Maintenance and Operations
- Oversee external contractors engaged in preventative and reactive maintenance works, ensuring adherence to our policies and procedures.
- Inspect construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with expected standards and design specifications.
- Develop and implement the Preventive Maintenance Program (PPM) for all building systems and the IMM Plant.
- Technical Support
- Liaise with the Plant Maintenance and Automation Team as required.
- Maintain HVAC systems, building fabric, electrical and alarm systems, lighting, and other assets.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and compliance checks, including daily plant inspections and water temperature checks.
- Supply Chain Management
- Ensure adequate supplies, materials, consumables, tools, and critical spares are available to meet the preventative and reactive maintenance needs of both Facilities and IMM.
- Assist contractors with the planning and oversight of PPM and reactive works.
- Health and Safety
- Ensure the building meets relevant health and safety standards and legislative requirements, working with the HSE department.
- Promptly respond to employee-generated maintenance requests.
- Assist with refurbishments, relocations, and office space management operations.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping
- Maintain detailed and accurate records and prepare clear and concise written reports.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning and emergency response coordination.
- Education and Experience
- HNC in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or similar.
- Time-served as an apprentice (mechanical/electrical).
- Experience of working with Injection Moulding and Tooling.
- Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company.
- Experience with using Microsoft Office.
- Professional behavior, good communication skills, and a focus on continuous improvement with a safety mindset.
- Organized and methodical with a result-driven approach.
- Flexible with good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
