Job Summary

Elton Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and cost projects and programmes of work, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Manage specific elements of work allocated by the Senior Cost Manager/Commercial Executive, maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.
  • Assist with the development of approved tender lists and provide a comprehensive budget analysis.
  • Support the preparation of tender documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the commercial evaluation of tenders, including meetings, supplemental bid documentation, and recommendation reports.
  • Prepare contract documentation for execution, ensuring all necessary parties are informed and aligned.
  • Review trade contract and consultant submittals from a commercial perspective, reporting and responding as necessary.
  • Liaise with contractors and/or client representatives to ensure instructions are raised and acted upon, costs are received, agreed, and change orders are issued on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate accounts throughout the various contract durations, ensuring timely and efficient financial management.
  • Assist in the inspection of trade contract works for quality and completion from a commercial perspective, advising and resolving as necessary.

Desirable Skills:

  • Quantity Surveying practical work experience, ideally on large commercial and/or residential projects working on Mechanical & Electrical packages, is highly desirable.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying/RICS is a requirement for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills are necessary for successful contract management.
  • Computer literacy is an essential requirement for this role, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
  • A positive and helpful attitude, combined with a strong customer service orientation, is essential for maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients.
