Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Assistant Manager to join our Corporate Tax team in London. As a Tax Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for providing UK tax advisory and compliance services to our clients and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the principal contact with many clients on day-to-day tax matters and work with managers, senior managers, directors, or partners on larger clients.
- Be involved in tax advisory and planning work on client portfolios and work with senior colleagues and specialists to deliver expertise to the local market.
- Assist with business development and attend client events.
- Review corporation tax computations and advise clients on the computational treatment of contentious issues. Coordinate tax payments, loss relief, capital allowances, group relief, and other claims.
- Respond appropriately to requests from clients for other KPMG services. Coordinate a number of different teams internally to provide a single point of contact for the client in delivering a comprehensive cross-tax offering.
- Delegate delivery of work to junior colleagues while maintaining control of quality and timetables.
- Cook and develop more junior members of staff.
- Maintain strong financial management of client accounts. Ensure that fees are raised regularly and identify situations where overruns can be billed.
- Keep internal control records up to date and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified (ACA/ACCA or CTA or equivalent).
- Sound knowledge of UK corporate taxation.
- Sound knowledge of accountancy principles, in particular accounting for tax (including deferred taxation and accounts disclosures).
- Strong time and task management skills. Able to remain calm when under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Sustain a high level of drive, show enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
- Monitor and uphold high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external).
- A practical approach to problems with client focus and commercial awareness.
- Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work. Continuously learn from experiences. Seek out feedback and development opportunities.
- Ability to build good relationships with clients.
- Communicate with impact in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear.
- Ability to work as part of a team. Give clear directions, positive and constructive feedback. Coach less experienced staff.
- Work in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues, clients, and the wider community.
